To calculate the best blanket weight:

The calculator follows the general rule of thumb used by therapists: a weighted blanket should be approximately 10% of your body weight + 1 lb (0.5 kg). For couples sharing a blanket, it is often better to use two individual blankets sized to each person.
Weighted blankets use Deep Pressure Stimulation (DPS) to help relax the nervous system. This mimics the sensation of being hugged or held, which can increase serotonin and melatonin levels while reducing cortisol, making it a popular aid for anxiety and insomnia.
