DASI Calculator (Duke Activity Status Index)
Assess functional capacity and estimate peak oxygen uptake (VO2 max) using the Duke Activity Status Index.
Complete User Guide
Answer the 12 functional capacity questions manually:
Step 1: Check 'Yes' for every activity you can perform.
Step 2: Leave 'No' for activities you cannot do or that cause significant pain/fatigue.
Step 3: View your aggregate DASI score and estimated metabolic capacity.
The Mathematical Formula
VO2 Max = (0.43 × DASI Score) + 9.6
DASI Score = Σ (Weight of activity) VO2 Max = (0.43 × DASI Score) + 9.6 METS = VO2 Max / 3.5
About DASI Calculator (Duke Activity Status Index)
The DASI was developed to help medical professionals estimate a patient's cardiovascular fitness and exercise tolerance without a treadmill test. It is highly effective for screening pre-operative risk.
