Our GPA Calculator helps you combine multiple courses into one weighted academic average. Here's how to use it:

Step 1: Add one row for each course you want to include in your GPA.

Step 2: Enter the course name if you want a clearer summary. If you leave it blank, the calculator will still generate a default course label.

Step 3: Enter the credit hours for that course. Decimal credit values are allowed as long as they are greater than zero.

Step 4: Choose the earned letter grade from the dropdown. This calculator uses a 4.0 scale with common plus and minus grades.

Step 5: Click 'Calculate' to see your GPA, total credits, total grade points, a GPA-based letter result, and a running course-by-course breakdown.

This calculator uses the standard weighted GPA formula:

Grade Points for one course = Grade Point Value × Credits

GPA = Sum of all course grade points / Sum of all credits

The calculator uses these grade-point values: A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, B- = 2.7, C+ = 2.3, C = 2.0, C- = 1.7, D+ = 1.3, D = 1.0, F = 0.0

After computing the GPA, the tool also maps the final number to an approximate letter grade range for a quick summary.

That means a 4-credit class changes the final GPA more than a 1-credit class, even if both courses have the same letter grade.
